Meet Our Founder

Taylar Barrington, the visionary of UniversiTee Box is a double graduate of Florida A&M University. She will often say that she was born to be an entrepreneur, but is laser-driven by her strong passion for girls. A southern belle, and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Taylar beautifully combines her expertise in journalism, design, communications, business and digital photography, to create a place like UniversiTee Box. She’s even spearheaded the development of one of our foundation’s initiatives, “Girls With (Dis)Abilities”, as she often makes fond references to how her time as a special needs teacher has shaped who she is today. You can catch Taylar bundled up watching the Princess Diaries, brainstorming her next big, fabulous idea for how to rule the world, pinning to her Wedding Pinterest board, glued to her laptop surfing the latest in politics, boasting the loudest laugh at brunch with her girlfriends, and belting notes to her favorite Mariah Carey Songs. Media outlets like Insider, Black Enterprise, Business Insider, American Express, Empire Life Magazine and BRAVA Magazine have taken note about Taylar’s mission to impact good, pave a wider path for women, and break through ceilings.
